Sherwood Forest is a lovely residential neighborhood in intown Atlanta. In relation to other intown Atlanta neighborhoods, it’s an intimate community tucked away directly north of Ansley Park, west of Morningside-Lenox Park, and south of Buckhead’s Brookwood Hills. With street names like Robin Hood Road, Friar Tuck Road and Lady Marian Lane there’s an easily distinguishable theme! Founded in 1949, most of the homes in the neighborhood were built then and throughout the 1950s.
Although Sherwood Forest is an intown neighborhood, the design provides residents with a peaceful residential escape. Many of the lots in Sherwood Forest are very large compared to those in other intown neighborhoods. They have beautiful trees, which gives the neighborhood extra appeal. The neighborhood is made up primarily of large ranch style homes that stretch long across each lot. As an intown Atlanta neighborhood, Sherwood Forest is in a fantastic location. Residents have only a quick commute to Downtown, Buckhead, Atlantic Station, and many other intown commercial areas. There is easy access to two of the main arteries of Atlanta, Peachtree Road, and I-85.
Some residents even have the beautiful Ansley Golf Club in their own back yards, while others have views of the ever growing downtown skyline. The High Museum is within walking distance as are several popular dining and shopping destinations. Sherwood Forest is a fantastic place to call home. The neighborhood is beautiful, well-kept, and in a fantastic location for intown living. To top it all off, Sherwood Forest is full of active residents led by a Civic Association dedicated to the continued success and preservation of the neighborhood’s sense of community.
